You usually see the bacon in the slaw not smothered over the chicken! Mixing up ingredients is an easy way to upcycle traditional recipes into your own. Plus, this summer flavors are sure to remind you what time of year it is!

We Provide
  • 2, 5 oz. Chicken Breast
  • 3 Slices Bacon
  • ¼ C. Balsamic Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Hot Sauce
  • 1 Head Broccoli
  • 2 oz. Greek Yogurt
  • 1 oz. Sunflower seeds
You Provide
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Olive Oil
  • Sauté Pan
  • Medium Mixing bowl
  • Small sauce bowl
  • Cutting Board

Preheat sauté pan with 1 tablespoon olive oil over high heat. While the pan heats up, season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Once the oil in the pan starts to smoke, add chicken and reduce heat to medium. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side.

While the chicken cooks, prep the broccoli salad. Remove the stems, and peel off the tough outer layer with your knife or a veggie peeler. Chop the tender stems into pieces and place in your mixing bowl. Roughly chop the rest of the crown into similar sized pieces. Top with Greek Yogurt, a drizzle of olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine and top with sunflower seeds.

Flip the chicken breasts after 5 minutes. While your chicken continues cooking combine your sauce. Add as much balsamic vinegar to the soufflé cup with honey to make sure you get all of it. Combine honey and vinegar with Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Stir to combine.

Once the chicken has cooked for 10 minutes, pull chicken off the heat and let rest. Add the bacon slices to the hot pan and cook over medium heat for 4 minutes on each side, until browned.

Once the bacon is browned, pull of heat and let cool. Turn heat down to low and drain off excess fat. Add in the liquids to your sauce to the hot pan and let reduce down. Crumble the bacon right into your sauce and then pour over the chicken.

To plate, create a bed of the tangy broccoli slaw and top with the sweet and spicy chicken.
