The combination of paprika on the chicken and the sweet cinnamon on the carrots creates a savor combination for the senses. Both bold in red orange color and slightly sweet, the juiciness of the chicken and the slight crunch of the carrots highlights each spice individually. 

We Provide
  • 6 Chicken drumsticks
  • 1 Tablespoon paprika
  • 1-2 Carrots
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon of honey

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine paprika, salt and pepper into one spice bag to create your spice rub. Place drumsticks on sheet tray and cover drumsticks with spices making sure each drumstick is well coated. Place seasoned drumsticks in oven and bake for 15 minutes. While your drumsticks cook, get your carrots started.

Heat sauté pan over medium. While your pan heats up, slice carrots on a bias remembering that the size you cut them determines cook time. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil and carrots to hot pan and toss carrots until they are coated in oil. Add your cinnamon and honey. You want to see little flecks of cinnamon all over the carrots. Add a splash of water to the pan – just go get enough liquid to help steam the carrots and loosen up that sticky honey- cover with a lid and let steam 5 minutes, checking on the liquid level every few minutes.

Step 3


Once your carrots are covered and left over medium heat, it should be time to check your drumsticks to see if the pan needs to be rotated. Continue baking for another 10 minutes. While your drumsticks continue cooking, make your salad.

Step 4


Check on your carrots to make sure they have enough liquid and doneness. Remove from heat if done

Step 5


By now your chicken should have been in the oven for 25 minutes and should be done. Look for the skin to be crispy and pull away from the lower section of bone and some yellow orange oil around each drumstick from the paprika and natural juices in the chicken.

Plate your carrots, chicken drumsticks and salad on a plate.
