Bright citrus and mango pair nicely with the rich steak and savory cilantro lime rice. Get the perfect bite with a bit of steak, mango and red onion!

We Provide
  • 2, 5 Oz. Sirloin Steaks
  • 1 Mango
  • ¼ Red Onion
  • ¾ Oz. Cilantro
  • 1 Lime
  • ½ Cup White Rice
  • 1 Jalapeno Pepper

Step 1

recipe140_1Get your rice cooking, but placing 1 tablespoon olive oil into a sauce pan over high heat. Add in the rice and once stranslucent, but not browned, add in 1 cup water and season with salt and pepper, bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover and reduce the heat to low. Steam for 15 minutes.

Step 2

recipe140_2Prepare the mango by cutting into three pieces (2 with just fruit and 1 with the seed), cutting on either side of the seed. Peel the skin off the section with the seed in the middle and cut off as much fruit away from the seed. Cut the sections with just fruit into half and use a smaller paring knife to cut the fruit away from the skin. Cut into a dice and place into your medium mixing bowl.

Step 3

recipe140_3Prep the rest of your fresh veggies. Dice the red onion, jalapeno and roughly chop the cilantro. Use a microplane or your knife to zest the lime and then cut it into half. Set aside.Add the diced onion, jalapeno and half of the cilantro to the mango. Top with the juice of half the lime and stir to combine. Set aside until final plating.

Step 4

recipe140_4Preheat the sauté pan over high heat with 1 tablespoon olive oil. While that heats up, season your steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Once the oil in the pan starts to smoke, reduce heat to medium and add in the steaks. Cook for 5 minutes on both sides.

Step 5

recipe140_5While your steak finishes cooking, finish the rice. Once the rice has cooked through remove the lid and add in the lime zest and cilantro. Fluff with a fork until evenly combined.

Step 6

recipe140_thmbTo plate, create a bed with half of the cilantro lime rice and top with a steak. Spoon over a pile of the fresh mango and dinner is served.
